Every spot on Earth is place of potential for regenerating edible and useful biodiversity! Whether you are a farmer, gardener, landscaper, teacher, or anyone else- this website is for you. This site is for those who are passionate about food security, community well-being and societal resilience!
Stewardship of our landscapes, from as little as 25 square feet is a big part of creating the world we want to see. We see stewardship as being three-fold: Exemplify, Mentorship, Sponsorship. We can exemplify stewardship by actually planting edible plants, we can mentor by teaching others how to plant, and we can sponsor by sharing plants with others. In this way our Edible Biodiversity Map is about helping people connect are which plants are successful where, and why?
By providing your planting success here you are joining a movement called EPI, which stands for Educate, Propagate, Inspire. This movement is introduced in the book The Edible Ecosystem Solution. It is a movement based on the principles of transitioning under-utilized green spaces in urban, suburban and rural areas to edible biodiversity (whether gardens, edible landscapes or agro-ecological farming, etc.) through establishing garden spots meant to help educate your community, spread pants and inspire them to create their own garden spots. We appreciate how many great gardeners there are in the world already and this map is about helping people see what plant you have successfully grown to encourage and help shorten and improve the success rate of new and expanding growers!
